Team for the Moses Lake Ethanol Plant Build
Liquafaction is the general contractor for the build. Liquafaction is a unique small business that brings two specialties together to minimize the time from purchase of systems to production. Half of the company specializes in dismantling, shipping, and reassembling heavy industrial equipment. The other half of the company specializes in electronic, mechanical and industrial design and equipment sales. With this combination of resources, Liquafaction is uniquely positioned to purchase industrial equipment at low prices, then rapidly deploy and construct this equipment at new sites.
Bio-Process Innovation is responsible for the ethanol plant design. Their expertise is in fermentation, distillation, and process engineering. Dr. M. Clark Dale, the proprietor of BPI, has considerable world-wide experience in ethanol and a long list of papers and patents.
Brown & Murray Industrial Contractors are the primary mechanical contractors. They were established in 1983 specializing in mechanical installation and have completed hundreds of projects for companies like Weyerhaeuser Company. They will be working with pipe fitting, tank welding, steel erection, and other mechanical construction. Based in Salem Oregon, many of their clients are in the timber products industries. They have welders certified for high pressure steam and have a large staff of pipe fitters and structural welders. Our contact at Brown & Murray is David Brown.
Total Western will be a subcontractor responsible for certain fabrication and electrical work. A company with offices in Washington, California and Nevada, they were formed in 1995 by the combination of The Western Companies and Total Services. Our contact at Total Western is James McFall.
Semisi Taumoefolau started in construction back in 1979 working for Bishop Construction and J. J. Welcome. In 1987, he started Lihona Concrete and Masonry, and has been the owner and manager of Lihona ever since. He specializes in concrete, masonry and roadways. His company will be responsible for our foundation, drainage, water control and roads, and will be responsible for parts of the building.
