Shipping and Receiving

The primary raw material for an ethanol plant is corn. This is brought in by railroad unit trains and are discussed on our Grain Elevator page. Trucks move grain from the elevator to the main plant. The plant produces ethanol and distiller's grains which must be weighed, and it uses relatively small amounts of other material, which is the subject here.

For weighing trucks to verify shipments, the facility has three truck scales. This scale is at the new warehouse (old potato flake factory), and will be used to weigh distiller's grains that we ship out.

After weighing, a grain truck delivers its grain to the dump pit here.  There is a screw auger that moves the grain from here into the building.
