Grain Elevator on Railroad
While Moses Lake has the US record for corn produced per acre, the price of corn here is frequently higher than in the Midwest. To move corn inexpensively over long distances, "unit trains" are used. A unit train has 110 railroad cars all filled with grain. To avoid demurrage charges, a plant has only a limited time to load or unload these trains. Our plan is to modify the existing grain elevator to allow it to use unit trains.
